The Buffalo Bills are going into training camp with 4 quarterbacks on their roster.  The four quarterbacks are Matt Cassel, EJ Manuel, Tyrod Taylor and Matt Simms.

Rex Ryan and the Buffalo Bills will not be taking all 4 into the season with them.  I can see 3 quarterbacks on the roster for most of the training camp and even heading into the season for week 1 but not 4.

This is also probably the biggest position battle that their will be at training camp this year.  If not the biggest, then it will be the one that everyone will be talking about as well as watching for the length of camp until a starter has been named.

Matt Cassel brings the veteran leadership, similar to that of Kyle Orton from last year.  I heard it described as Cassel having the highest floor, rather than ceiling, as he is the safe choice and the guy that will protect the ball and make the smart decisions with minimal risk/reward taken.

EJ Manuel.  We have seen Manuel for the past 2 years, total of 14 games, not even a full season.  It is a possibility that he has been the victim of poor coaching in his first two years, which put him behind the eight ball, and it could also be that he just is not as good as everyone thought when drafted.  He will have a chance this year, but if it does not pan out, ties will be cut with EJ.

Tyrod Taylor is the unknown excitement.  He comes from being the backup to Joe Flacco for 4 years on a team that has been a winner for those 4 years.  He has experience in big games, as far as being a part of team that has been in them, and he has the athleticism to make plays happen.  He is Rex Ryan’s favorite and has a good chance of winning this starting job.  Could he be the next Russell Wilson?

Matt Simms is your depth chart quarterback.  Familiar with Rex Ryan and his coaching style, Simms looks to be the first one to go so that the other three have the ability to work on more reps with the starters and 2nd teams so that a sound decision can be made for the starting quarterback job.
