Longtime Buffalo Bills broadcaster Van Miller dies at 87 – Sentinel Republic

"“On behalf of Terry and Kim Pegula, and everyone at One Bills Drive, we are deeply saddened with the news of the passing of Van Miller“, Bills CEO Russ Brandon released in a statement. The Bills had lost every game against the Miami Dolphins in the 1970s, but the turn of the decade meant a turn of fortunes, and Van Miller’s call still looms large in any Bills fan’s mind that “the streak is over”.The former “Voice of the Bills” first took to the mic during the team’s inaugural season in 1960."

Bills‘ Brooks up against the clock

"Chances are that you haven’t seen any footage of Ron Brooks this offseason. The Buffalo Bills cornerback doesn’t flood social media with videos of himself bench-pressing and running sprints. He doesn’t mingle with the enemy, either. Whereas many NFL players train with rivals at multimillion-dollar complexes – pushing each other, yet also cozying up for an Instagram photo op – this Buffalo Bills cornerback trains alone back home in Dallas.“Not to say I don’t like people but I go about working and do my business,” Brooks said. “I talk to everybody and I have a good time with everybody and laugh and joke and play. But when it comes time to work, I’m going to work. For me, I have ADHD. So when I have people around me, I like to talk and do extracurricular stuff."

Janine Talley’s Journal: Medical team puts Darryl in good hands

"This is the second in a series of six columns for The Buffalo News by Janine Talley, wife of Bills great Darryl Talley.Although many retired players’ seasons in the NFL are a distant memory, the injuries incurred during those seasons persist in their daily lives to the extent that their quality of life is enormously compromised. The NFL Players Association has recognized this as widespread among retired players, and in 2013 announced an initiative funded by the Trust powered by the NFLPA and spearheaded by Harvard Medical School. The partnership’s goal is to evaluate, diagnose and treat former players so they can enjoy a more productive life."
