Rex Ryan, coach of the Buffalo Bills, is confident that his team will make the 2015 Playoffs. Having not been to the Playoffs since 1999, Buffalo is the only team in the league that hasn’t been to the postseason in the 21st century. Luckily for Bills fans this year, there is a glimmer of hope in ending this long playoff depression.

Earlier this week Coach Ryan made some bold statements to NJ.com predicting the outcome of the Bill’s 2015 season.
"I think we’ll be in this year. So we’ll see."
Then, last Wednesday at the Celebrity Softball Game, Ryan backed up his bold statements by saying:
"“But I guarantee you one thing: Teams aren’t going to want to play us. I can tell you that much … come watch practice, and you’ll probably come away with the same feeling I have. We’re loaded on defense. We’re loaded at the skill positions. So we’ll see.”"
Even with Buffalo’s complicated quarterback situation, Ryan isn’t retracting any of his statements.
"“Obviously, it’s not an ideal situation, or there would already be one guy there (as the starter). But we have enough talent there that I’m confident that when it’s all said and done, we’ll be fine.”"
Hopefully Ryan is correct with his predictions this year and didn’t just make these statements to sell tickets or hype up Bills fans, who have been led on too many times for their own good.
As you probably know, Ryan has made many confident pre-season statements before that haven’t been the most accurate. For example, last season he predicted his New York Jets team to make the Playoffs when they ended up going 4-12.
So why should us Bills fans believe Ryan? Well for one, Buffalo certainly has more talent this year than the Jets had last season. Ryan was correct when he said the Bills have a “loaded” defensive line, which includes pro-bowlers Marcell Dareus, Mario Williams, and Kyle Williams. The Bills even have strong skill players in Sammy Watkins, Lesean McCoy and Percy Harvin. So should we start buying the hype?

I’m not quite sold on the idea that the Bills can advance to the postseason just yet. Let’s not forget that Buffalo’s offensive line is sub-par and if things don’t work out accordingly, their quarterback situation could undermine the rest of their talented roster.
Plus, the AFC East was already a tough division with the Patriots dominating year after year. Now the Dolphins are posing a strong threat to the Bills with their improved defensive line.
I’m not trying to be a Debbie-downer or discredit any of Buffalo’s talent but us Bills fans have been getting our hopes up too many times to be let down again.
Until the season starts, all we can do is wait… and pray that the Bills will end their playoff drought once and for all.
