Buffalo Bills Circling The Wagons: Rex Ryan, Matt Simms
By Dennis Amo
The Buffalo Bills finished up their first week of OTAs and we have more roster changes already. Jeff Tuel is gone and Matt Simms is in. Rex Ryan is taking shots at anyone that he can think of at this point, from what it seems, and all the quarterbacks are getting their fair share with the first team.
These are and more with your Buffalo Bills daily links from around the web.
Rex Ryan Takes Swipe at Giants, Jets: ‘Buffalo Bills are New York’s Only Team’
"Rex Ryan may no longer be the head coach of the New York Jets, but that hasn’t stopped him from spending much of his time focused on the New York Giants. Perhaps the inferiority complex from when he was leading the Jets has carried over now that he’s with the Buffalo Bills — although it appears the Jets are also currently in his crosshairs."
Bills Mailbag: Big-name cuts could still happen
"You’ve got Bills questions/comments that you submit to me via Twitter, @viccarucci, and email, at vcarucci@buffnews.com, and I have answers. Here’s what I have to say about what you have to say: @mattgolden03 says: “53-man roster, who are the surprising cuts this year?”"
Bills cut Tuel, pick up Simms
"It took only three OTA practices this week for the Buffalo Bills’ coaching staff to determine that at least one holdover at quarterback, Jeff Tuel, wasn’t worth keeping. The Bills cut Tuel Friday to make room for another quarterback, Matt Simms, who coach Rex Ryan had as mostly a fringe member of his roster for the past three seasons when he was at the helm of the New York Jets."
Buffalo Bills help out community with a clean-up day
"The Buffalo Bills helped out local parks Friday during a community clean-up day. Volunteers from the organization teamed up for the fourth year in a row to clean up local parks. Friday they focused on Delaware Park with the Olmsted Parks Conservancy. Players were busy at One Bills drive practicing, but team representatives on the scene say it’s part of a master plan by Terry and Kim Pegula."
Bills double-dip with quarterbacks in OTA practices
"One week into the great quarterback battle, no blood was drawn at One Bills Drive. During the four workouts, Matt Cassel, EJ Manuel and Tyrod Taylor split first-team reps fairly evenly, and without using these exact words, Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan indicated that this is going to be a marathon, not a sprint."
