Buffalo Bills Don’t Draft A Quarterback

The Buffalo Bills came into the 2015 NFL Draft with 6 total picks.  There was speculation as to what direction they were going, and they had chances to go in every direction during the draft.  They also had the options to trade away picks to move up or even gain more for next year, but they didn’t and used all 6 of their picks to draft for depth purposes and they seemed to take a liking to some of the more specials teams guys that were in the draft this year.

With 6 picks in the draft, and no real quarterback direction, a lot of individuals thought that the Buffalo Bills were going to make a move on a different quarterback to at least add more to the quarterback competition. As fo right now, the Buffalo Bills are sitting with 4 quarterbacks on their roster; EJ Manuel, the hold over form last year, Matt Cassel, the feisty veteran, Tyrod Taylor, who I would consider to be the draft pick, with a little experience, and Jeff Tuel, brought in the same year that Manuel was.

With 4 quarterbacks headed into training camp, the Buffalo Bills seems to have just about all aspects covered, except for the franchise quarterback label.  Could EJ Manuel finally come into his own after being benched, watching and learning form veteran Kyle Orton.  Is that one fot he reasons why Matt Cassel was brought it? Mentoring Teddy Bridgewater?

Is Tyrod Taylor, similar to Brett Hundley and able to make plays with his legs, going to be the guy that determines whether or not EJ Manuel is part of this team moving forward?  Everything is up in the air at this point and there are a lot of questions that still need to be answered at this point.

The one thing we know is that there will be a quarterback competition in Buffalo, with at least 3 of these guys, and mentoring will most likely occur, as long as Cassel does not slip on a runner mat.

The Buffalo Bills have improved in all positions on offense, even quarterback, they just may not have moved as far up the ladder as we would have hoped.  Either way it will be an interesting camp to follow and the biggest developments will be from the quarterback position.
