With Ryan in town he’ll be implementing his 3-4 hybrid defense. Marcell Dareus will be the man taking over the nose tackle position in the middle but those big guys need a breather every once in awhile. To help boost the depth behind Dareus, Ryan will want another big body that can not only spell him inside the 20’s but also help put size on goal line.
Walton didn’t face top competition while playing for the Chippewas in the MAC but neither did Dontari Poe with his time at Memphis. No doubt Walton is a project after going into college as an offensive lineman but he’d have time to progress behind both Dareus and Kyle Williams.
