Jerome Felton comes over from the Minnesota Vikings where he opted out of his final 2.45 million dollar contract in a 2014 year that saw his playing time drop significantly.

Felton, who has been Adrian Peterson‘s lead man with the Vikings saw 402 snaps in 2012 where he graded out to a +7.6.  A positive, showing that he played above expectations as a FB for the Vikings is a promising start.  In 2013, Jerome Felton was on the field for 302 snaps and graded out to a +5.6.  Last year, his playing considerably dropped off a cliff, reigning in at 175 snaps for the year but still grading out in the positives with a +3.7.

Felton was primarily used as a run blocking FB where he added to Peterson’s pull.

"Felton (6-0, 246) is considered one of the most accomplished blockers on the market. Originally a fifth-round pick of the Detroit Lions in 2008, the 28-year old has played the last three seasons with Minnesota. He’s primarily served as the road grader for perennial Pro Bowl running back Adrian Peterson in his time with the Vikings. The fullback earned an NFC Pro Bowl nod himself in 2012. Felton was also named 2nd Team All-Pro that season. This past year Felton ranked sixth among fullbacks in terms of blocking efficiency according to ProFootballFocus.– BuffaloBills.com"

For the Buffalo Bills, the addition of Jerome Felton, a true FB, will be a good one to add to the ground and pound offense that they are looking to run with.  With the Buffalo Bills having LeSean McCoy, Fred Jackson, Anthony Dixon, and Bryce Brown already on the team, adding Jerome Felton only seals the deal that they are going to run the ball early and often this coming year because the prospects of Matt Cassel and EJ Manuel moving the ball down the field are not as good as that running back corps.
