C.J. Spiller was reportedly and did take the option within his contract and void the possibility of staying for one more year in Buffalo. With that statement is was almost a sure thing that Spiller would be testing the market’s options to move on to another team.
It comes through, NFL.com, that C.J. Spiller is now looking to stay in Buffalo and has stated that the ball is in the Buffalo Bills court at this point.
"Spiller, however, told Sirius XM NFL Radio on Tuesday that he would like to remain on the western side of the state playing for the Buffalo Bills.FA RB @CJSpiller: There is a possibility that I can be in a Bills uniform but the ball is in their court. I want to be in Buffalo. #Bills– NFL.comC.J. Spiller did say that he will weigh his options and that he wants to go to a place where he is wanted. Rex Ryan did say last week that the Bills would “certainly” like to have C.J. Spiller next year in Buffalo.“Obviously you’ve got to go with a place that fits your style of play,” Spiller said. “You’ve got to be comfortable with the offensive coordinator. Obviously you want to have a great quarterback. You want to be in a good situation. Location is not going to be a (priority) on the list. Obviously you want to compete for championships because at the end of the day, that’s what it’s all about. …pretty much having the chance to get to the postseason. … a contender and not just one-year wonder.”– NFL.comC.J. Spiller is currently being connected with the New York Jets as they have recently parted ways with running back Chris Johnson. The main reason, the new offensive coordinator in New York, Chan Gailey, did have a part to play in C.J. Spiller’s 1200+ yard season back in 2012.C.J. Spiller would help the ground and pound philosophy in Buffalo, and be that change of pace guy that I was looking at Bryce Brown to be, if Spiller was to test the open market.I think that Spiller will get the chance to test the open market and will ultimately go somewhere else. I see the Buffalo Bills offering a contract to him, but it will not be to his liking as far as monetary commitment and length that he will be looking for.Next: Buffalo Bills Rumors: Julius Thomas A Buffalo BillMore from BuffaLowDownBuffalo Bills were ready to trade back if they couldn’t get Dalton KincaidGrading Buffalo Bills drafting Dalton Kincaid in 2023 NFL DraftHow the Buffalo Bills can win Day 1 of the 2023 NFL DraftBuffalo Bills having conversations about trading for DeAndre HopkinsBuffalo Bills Draft Rumors: Bills linked to this shocking first round target FA RB @CJSpiller: There is a possibility that I can be in a Bills uniform but the ball is in their court.
