April 30th until may 2nd NFL Draft held in Chicago
My mock draft for the Buffalo Bills in the 2015 NFL Draft. Bills were able to trade up to 32 by giving up our 50th overall pick next years 3rd and 1st pick in the 5th round. By doing so Doug Whaley will have drafted the first ever play making Tight End in the Buffalo Bills history. Scott Chandler becomes the second Tight End in the scheme and in doing so elevates himself to the best 2nd tight end in the NFL.  A discussion I had on the emails from doug whaley podcast last week. In another shocking twist Whaley trades back into the second round giving up our 2nd in 2015 a conditional fourth round pick in 2015 and the Bills 5th round pick in 2015 to get Jaelen Strong WR out of Arizona State. Strong is the big bodied receiver the Bills have been looking for for quite some time. Strong high points the ball well and does everything a receiver in the NFL should. His only knock is that he is not the best route runner which is something that is easily fixed coming to the next level. Pairing Strong with Watkins and Woods will really super charge the Bills offense coming into the season. Bills fans now need to wait late into the third day of the NFL to see there beloved teams next pick. Tyler Varga had probably one of the best senior bowl performances this year. The Yale Product also fits the exact bluer print of what Greg Roman wants from a running back in his scheme. Varga will have to fight to make the roster for sure but if he does he will be a great contributor on offense and special teams. In the final round of the 2015 NFL Draft the Bills send two conditional picks to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for their first pick in the 7th round. At that position they decide to take Sean Mannion Quarterback out of Oregon State. Mannion is the prototypical pocket passer and has great mechanics and a storng arm. His skill set allows him to put balls in tight windows down the field. His knocks against him are that he gets flustered when he reads a defensive blitz incorrectly and that at times he will continue to dro back in the pocket if nothings open and lost big yards, rather than just step up in the pocket and see whats available to him. With their final pick in the 2015 NFL Draft the Buffalo Bills select Devin Gardner WR/OW Michigan University. Gardner did decently as the starting Quarterback for the Wolverines although he had his best season his sophomore year as a the top target of now Jaguar running back Dernard Robinson. Gardner has the large possibility of becoming a threatening young wide out with speed to burn and the athleticism to become the next Julian Edelman. Much like Julian Edelman Gardner will take some time to develop but once he does he will be an extremely strong target.
