The Buffalo Bills traded their first round pick away last year to move up and draft Sammy Watkins. The Buffalo Bills don’t have a draft pick until the 50th overall pick in this years draft, which puts them smack dab in the middle of the second round.
At this point in the draft, Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota will be off the board along with most of the top running backs and guards. SO what will the Buffalo Bills be looking at come the 50th pick in the draft? Syracuse.com’s Michael Fairburn is looking at an athletic Tight End for the Buffalo Bills first pick in the draft.
"The Bills have to wait until pick No. 50 to make their first pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. By that time, most of the top running backs and guards could be off the board, so the Bills turn their attention to tight end. Minnesota’s Maxx Williams is a dynamic playmaker that the Bills have sorely lacked at the tight end position for years. Whoever the Bills end up putting under center, they need to make sure to surround him with weapons. Williams would add a different dynamic to Buffalo’s passing attack.– Michael Fairburn"
With the signing of Ritchie Incognito, which adds a little more depth to the offensive line, The need for quarterback is still in the forefront, but with only a mid 2nd round pick, the Maxx Williams pick is a good one for the Bills to begin to move forward and create another positional weapon on the team and another option for who ever is the quarterback.
Greg Roman is an offensive coordinator that likes to move his tight ends around to help the running game out, but will also use them in the passing game as well. I think that this pick does work well for everyone on the offensive side of the ball.
Michale Fiarburn also looks at possibilities for the Buffalo Bills in the 3rd round.
"1. Jay Ajayi, running back, Boise State2. Garrett Grayson, quarterback, Colorado State3. Arie Kouandjio, guard, Alabama4. Preston Smith, edge rusher, Mississippi State5. David Cobb, running back, Minnesota"
