  • The upcoming schedule Buffalo Bills as well as the rest of the league looks like this, at least for the next couple of months.

Feb. 16: First day for clubs to designate franchise or transition players.

Feb. 17-23: NFL Scouting Combine, Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis

March 10: 2015 league year and free agency period begin at 4 p.m. ET. All clubs must be under the 2015 salary cap before 4 p.m. ET.

    March 22-25: Annual meeting, Phoenix

April 24: Deadline for restricted free agents to sign offer sheets

April 29: Deadline for prior club to exercise right of first refusal to restricted free agents.

April 30-May 2: NFL draft, Chicago

May 8-11: First weekend after draft: Clubs may elect to hold their three-day post-draft rookie mini-camp from Friday through Sunday or Saturday through Monday.

May 15-18: Second weekend after draft: Clubs may elect to hold their three-day post-draft rookie mini-camp from Friday through Sunday or Saturday through Monday.

May 18-20: NFL spring league meeting, San Francisco

June 21-27: Rookie Symposium, Aurora, Ohio.

A couple of key dates that should be circled on your calendar are the NFL draft that will take place on April 30th-May 2nd.  March 10th will open up the free agency period at 4 PM.  May 15-18th is when the rookie camps are set to begin, if and when teams want to.

The annual meetings are also ones that I watch out for, because there are always rule changes that come about for the new season.  It is always interesting to see what the league will come up with next.  Maybe the QBs wear red shirts and flags and you can hit them period this year.  There is always something that deserves a head shake in disbelief.  It is just a matter of which current rule will be affected.
