The Dude Abides
"Projected to Finish Sixth, The Dude Abides Might Make Playoffs but Probably Not Draft Summary Andy Dufresne once said that “Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.” Sadly, hope might be the only thing that The Dude Abides can cling to as their playoff aspirations are dwindling quickly. They picked eighth overall in Buffalowdown League 2 League and are forecasted to finish sixth with a record of 7-7-0 (1,287 points). They went with a balanced approach early, selecting QB Peyton Manning (8th overall), RB C.J. Spiller (33rd), WR Julio Jones (13th), and TE Julius Thomas (28th) within the first five rounds. They ended up with the most prolific QB duo in the league, as they added Manning and Tom Brady. Stupid autodraft! Right? Since you can’t be blamed for that draft, go ahead and nominate yourself for the Toyota Hall Of Fame. Draft Notes Will Tanking Week 9 Mean More Success Every Other Week? The Dude Abides’s four best RBs (C.J. Spiller, Joique Bell, Bishop Sankey, and Fred Jackson) will all be on bye in Week 9. Asset Allocation QB is the strongest position for The Dude Abides, though WR and K aren’t too shabby either. Losing Focus The Dude Abides must have had to leave their draft party early. After tallying the most projected points in the league over the draft’s first half, they managed the fewest during the second half. Golden Handcuff The Dude Abides hedged their bets by scooping up Fred Jackson in the 11th round to back up C.J. Spiller, his Bills teammate (a fourth-round selection). Top Heavy The top half of the The Dude Abides roster is one of the strongest in the league (projected to be No. 1). The bottom of the roster, unfortunately, is rated as the league’s weakest. Going Out with a Whimper The Dude Abides didn’t end the night the way they might have liked, winding up with the fewest projected points in the league over the second half of the draft."
