Bills defense tells the Jets to take a seat.

Well after a lot of anger and frustration from what Jairus Byrd has brought to the team thus far this season Bills fans got a real treat against the Jets this Sunday. Byrd was a difference maker in the Bills 37-14 win as he had two interceptions and a sack in what was also one hell of a collective effort by the Bills defense.

The Bills registered 4 sacks, 3 interceptions and a strip sack for a Bills recovery as the defense showed up huge to take a very important win away from a division rival that is in the hunt for a wild card spot. Right from the start of the game Marcell Dareus delivered a hit on Geno Smith that was so hard he was forced to take a play off to gather his wits. The Bills defense at no time let up and made a very long day for Geno Smith who was eventually benched in favor of  Matt Simms.

Kiko Alonso and Aaron Williams both continued to play aggressive and dominate as they have been two of the hardest working and productive .players on the team. Those two players combined for 13 tackles and 10 assist and a have proven to be the smartest acquisitions by the Bills in recent years. I don’t think you could of honestly predicted the numbers those two have racked up this season and both players without a doubt deserve votes into the pro bowl.

Da’Norris Searcy must of felt left out after having no tackles in this game but made sure to get involved with a pick 6.  The Bills defense truly did play a game that that Buffalo fans could be proud of and this win felt good. It was nice to finally have a comfortable lead going into the final quarter instead of wondering how we are going to lose this week.

That lead of course also had a lot to do with EJ Manuel and his two burner’s TJ Ghram  and Marquise Goodwin. EJ Manuel bounced back in a big way this week completing 20 of 28 pass attempts for 245 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. Graham was good for 74 yards including a 40 yard touchdown and Goodwin had 98 all purpose yards with a 43 yard touchdown.

It was the Buffalo Bills first blowout win of the season and it feels really good. I think we as Bills fans deserve this win and the extra week to soak it all in. The Bills are finally getting their much needed bye this week and there is no reason why we cant  keep barreling forward and racking up wins from here. Our next three games are all against teams that have records worse than ours so a late season push is not out of the question. Lets get some rest and then go smash some faces in! Go Bills!
