After a game winning drive last week, the Bills just looked lost this week against the Jets. I know we have a rookie quarterback but wow it was terrible. Both sides of the ball had its issues but looking at the offense it was a joke.

Knowing the Jets were going to dial up an aggressive defense the Bills had no answer. The running game was terrible and the passing game was just plain embarrassing. I think I counted about five balls that where thrown out of bounds by EJ and with that he didn’t even give his receivers a chance to make a play. I mean is he afraid of throwing a pick? Did the coaches tell him something? As much as I can’t stand Geno Smith he threw a pair of picks and still took his shots down the field and connected.

The play calling I thought was something this coaching staff will want to forget quickly. I saw 2 or 3 plays where it was 3rd and long and every receiver runs a 5 yard route. How is that possible? Another thing is I thought Nathaniel Hackett was going to have a dynamic offense? I haven’t seen anything dynamic about it and more importantly it’s not working thus far. Maybe he had something in mind but if EJ is unable to do it that’s his job to adjust it and make sure his QB is comfortable with it. I hope moving forward there will be a plan in place and the problems that have happened are just rookie mistakes from both the QB and coordinator.

The defense I thought had an ok start but then it just fell apart. Justin Rogers was just terrible and I blame Mike Pettine on not having a safety slide over to help him. If I remember correctly he didn’t even see the ball coming on both touchdown passes. Why are you not looking back for the ball and also why aren’t you playing a little bit off the receiver seeing you got burned basically all day. The linebackers played pretty well in my opinion but the line and the secondary was scary.

Lastly with this 27-20 loss to the Jets is how does that happen when you win the penalty and turnover battle? Usually those result in a win but not today and the Bills are now looking at a 1-2 record and last in the division. The Bills did suffer injuries and more on than that will certainly come out tomorrow as they get more information on the players. Things better be worked on this week as the defending champs will be in town coming off a win against the Texans.
