Buffalo Bills 2012 Schedule: One Sentence About All 16 Games

facebooktwitterreddit

Now that the Buffalo Bills 2012 schedule has been released, it’s time for a rapid-fire evaluation of the 16-game slate.

E.I.C. Brad Andrews gave his quick thoughts on the schedule the moment it was unveiled, but I thought I’d add my two cents, as well.

Without knowing everything about the makeup of all Buffalo’s 2012 opponents, here’s all I got right now.

Week 1 – @ New York Jets, 1 p.m.

The Jets won’t be as bad as people think in 2012, but how awesome will it be to stir up the Sanchez/Tebow controversy?

Week 2 – vs. Kansas City, 1 p.m.

The Chiefs aren’t fabulous, but are a team without many holes featuring a running game that’ll test Buffalo’s defensive line.

Week 3 – @ Cleveland, 1 p.m.

Colt McCoy, meet Mario Williams.

Week 4 – vs. New England, 1 p.m.

Remember the last time you came to Buffalo?

Week 5 – @ San Francisco, 4:15 p.m.

A huge test, especially for the offense.

Week 6 – @ Arizona, 4:05 p.m.

Bills will probably stay out West, and introduce their defensive line to Kevin Kolb on many occasions.

Week 7 – vs. Tennessee, 1 p.m.

Will Buffalo be facing Matt Hasselbeck or Jake Locker?

Week 8 – Bye

Insane boredom sets in.

Week 9 – @ Houston, 1 p.m.

Mario’s homecoming in another road test against a well-rounded club and a star running back.

Week 10 – @ New England, 1 p.m.

New England gets this game after their bye…why am I not surprised?

Week 11 (Thursday) – vs. Miami, 8:20 p.m.

Get to this one…it’s going to get raucous inside the Ralph that night.

Week 12 – @ Indianapolis, 1 p.m.

Andrew Luck, meet Mario Williams.

Week 13 – vs. Jacksonville, 1 p.m.

Blaine Gabbert won’t be too fond of Williams, Mario and Dareus, or “WMD” (Weapons of Mass Destruction.)

Week 14 – vs. St. Louis, 1 p.m.

Should be the team’s fourth consecutive win.

Week 15 – vs. Seattle (in Toronto), 4:05 p.m.

Ideal time and opponent for Toronto—another win up there would be nice.

Week 16 – @ Miami, 1 p.m.

A nice vacation down to South Beach in what could be a Ryan Tannehill start.

Week 17 – vs. New York Jets, 1 p.m.

Chances Tim Tebow is starting this game?

Thoughts: For the first time in a while, I can say that I truly fell in love with the schedule the moment I laid eyes on it. Yes, love at first sight. The soft end with five of seven at home (Yea, yea, Toronto’s in there, too) basically begs the Bills to make a run at the postseason.

I’m so ridiculously pumped for the night showdown against the Dolphins. It doesn’t carry the hype of a Monday Night Football game, but for those attending, it’ll be an absolute blast. Expect productivity to go way down on Friday, November 16th in the Western New York region.

As usual, I looked at the schedule and thought, duh, 16-0.

Easy.

We all know I’d settle for a trip to the playoffs.
