While the NFL playoffs are just starting, it's never too late to start thinking about who will represent the AFC and the NFC in Super Bowl LX. Despite being about four weeks away from the big game, teams still need to play hard and advance in each round.
Each team is always looking forward to winning one step at a time. But deep in the back of their minds, they definitely have teams they'd prefer not to face in the "Big Game." The Buffalo Bills are no different, as they would definitely like to avoid two teams in particular.
Buffalo would like to stay away from these two West Coast teams
1. LA Rams
Don't let their seeding in the Wild Card round fool you. For a while, quarterback Matthew Stafford and the Rams looked like the best team in the NFC, and possibly even a Super Bowl favorite. When they were up 30-14 on the Seattle Seahawks in the fourth quarter on Thursday Night Football, it looked like they had the No. 1 seed in the NFC wrapped up.
That was until the Seahawks scored 16 unanswered points to tie the game at 30 and send it into overtime. After the Rams scored the first touchdown in overtime, it looked like their defense would hold Seattle and win the game.
But thanks to quarterback Sam Darnold, the touchdown and the game-winning two-point conversion saw the Seahawks snag the No. 1 seed away from the Rams and never look back.
It has to be devastating for Stafford to once again have himself a day with over 400 yards passing, only to have your defense find a way to lose the game for you.
Throw out everything that happened in the regular season and open a new book in the playoffs, where the Rams have Super Bowl aspirations, and the rest of the chapters are unwritten. There's no telling if the Rams can make it to the Super Bowl as a 5th seed.
Plus, if the Bills make it that far, it would be pretty cool to see a modern-day Super Bowl between a 5 and a 6 seed.
2. Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks find themselves in the place they once were over a decade ago. They are once again the No. 1 seed in the NFC, and their defense may be back to the form of the "Legion of Boom." While Darnold has yet to win a Super Bowl, he reminds me of quarterback Russell Wilson when he was the signal caller for head coach Pete Carroll and was lifted by a generational defense.
Give all the credit in the world to second-year head coach Mike MacDonald, who, after just missing the playoffs last year with his team in his first year, has improved tremendously from going 10-7 to now 14-3 as the regular-season NFC kings.
Plus, this Super Bowl would be special because the NFL would finally be getting a Josh Allen vs. Sam Darnold dream Super Bowl matchup.
Still, the Bills should be wary if they were to face this version of the Seahawks, as no one wants to play them right now.
