The Buffalo Bills will be looking to bounce back this week as they host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a 1PM battle in Orchard Park. After getting embarrassed by the Dolphins, there has to be some urgency from the Bills to make a statement against the Bucs, who are coming off a close loss to the Patriots.

The Bills have gone against some familiar faces this season (Stefon Diggs, Mack Hollins, Rasul Douglas, Tyrel Dodson, etc.). It is rare for players to play their entire career with one team. At the end of the day, the NFL is a business and moves happen all the time.

While Buffalo has faced off against notable players like the ones listed above, they have also gone up against players who have been in the building, but never dressed for the Bills for a meaningful game. This week, they will see two players who were in this situation at one point or another.

2 former Bills facing Buffalo this week

OL Dan Feeney

Right before this past preseason, the Bills signed Dan Feeney but he did not make the final roster. However, he was brought back to the practice squad. After the first two weeks of the season, Feeney was eventually signed by the Buccaneers from the Bills’ practice squad and has started in two games for Tampa.

Prior to signing with Buffalo, Feeney started his career with the Chargers before landing with the Jets and Bears.

LB Deion Jones

Prior to the start of training camp in 2024, the Bills brought in a player who used to be one of the top linebackers in the NFL at one point in Deion Jones. He had a phenomenal start to his career with the Atlanta Falcons where he finished third in Defensive Rookie of the Year voting and became a Pro Bowl linebacker early on.

As time went on, his production started to decline which eventually led to him playing in Cleveland and Carolina before joining the Bills last offseason.

Many fans thought he would be a lock for the roster once Matt Milano tore his bicep, but he was beat out by guys like Dorian Williams and Joe Andreessen. Jones was released prior to the start of last season and would eventually land in Tampa Bay.
