Week 5 kicks off tonight between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Dallas Cowboys, and then it will conclude on Monday Night Football between the Buffalo Bills and Los Angeles Rams out in California.
The Rams are coming into this matchup at 2-2, beating the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4. Meanwhile, the Bills are looking to get back into the win column after being handed their first loss of the season by the New England Patriots. Not to mention, the Bills are only one game ahead of the Pats in the AFC East. If New England beats the Las Vegas Raiders, and the Bills lose to the Rams, the Patriots take control of the division. No pressure at all...right?
Buffalo had a lot go wrong for them in Week 4 against the Patriots, and now they will be looking to go clean things up ahead of the matchup against the Rams. Heading into this matchup the Bills are looking to get back on track, and they will be taking on two players who used to suit up for Buffalo at one point in their careers.
Buffalo set to face 2 former Bills in Week 5 primetime showdown
DT Poona Ford
The Bills' offensive line has a very tough task against the Rams' front unit, and part of it is Poona Ford, who played for the Bills for a bit in 2023. Ford played in just 8 games and came away with just 5 total tackles and a sack. However, his presence in the middle of the defensive line helped open up lanes for linebackers to fly in and make plays at or behind the line of scrimmage.
After a short stint with the Bills, Ford signed with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2024, and then eventually landed with the Rams in 2025. He has been extremely solid the last two seasons from 2024-2025 with 86 total tackles, 5 sacks, and 6 pass deflections.
Through five games this season, Ford has recorded 10 total tackles and a pass deflection. The Bills' offensive line has a tough task with Ford.
OL David Quessenberry
David Quessenberry spent just one season with the Bills from in 2022. He had limited starts upfront, but didn't make much of an impact for the offense. He is now a backup in LA.
In addition, linebacker Shaun Dolac, who played at the University at Buffalo and was teammates with Joe Andreessen, will be part of this matchup against Buffalo.
The Bills and Rams go face-to-face on Monday night in Week 5, and the Bills will be looking to get back on track from their loss against the Patriots this past Sunday.
