The NFL trade deadline is set for Tuesday, November 10th at 4PM EST, and the Buffalo Bills should be looking to make a move or two to improve the roster. With them being in a championship window, they cannot afford to go two consecutive years of not making any additions before the deadline.
Last year, the Bills made a push to try and acquire WR Jaylen Waddle from the Miami Dolphins, but the Dolphins turned down an offer which kept the Bills' passing attack problems alive for the remainder of the season.
The Bills ended up trading for DJ Moore this past offseason, drafting Skyler Bell, and then the surprising rise of Keon Coleman has been put on notice as he has stepped up big time for the Bills early on this season.
However, the Bills still have an issue with production from one of their receivers...
Bills' investment on Joshua Palmer has not paid off
The Bills signed Palmer in the 2025 offseason to a 3-year deal worth $30 million and it has been a bust for the Bills up to this point. Last season, Palmer played in just 12 games due to dealing with various injuries (he also missed the postseason) and he recorded 303 yards without getting into the endzone.
Okay, it's one year and injuries did play a factor. Not to mention, he had 2 catches for 2 touchdowns to start off this year that helped the Bills get to 2-0 against the Texans and Lions. Since then, though, Palmer has completely declined in production.
In Week 1, he had just 1 catch for 34 yards. Then in Week 2, he had just 1 catch for 43 yards (but again, he went for a touchdown with each catch). Since then, Palmer has just 2 catches for 40 yards...
He's only caught 4 out of 11 targets and now with Coleman definitely passing him on the depth chart, and Skyler Bell being a rookie that the Bills can develop, it's time for Buffalo to move him before the trade deadline, and there is one NFC team out west that could be in the market for getting wide receiver help.
Bills' best Joshua Palmer trade partner is Los Angeles Rams
Two weeks ago in Week 5, the Bills and Rams competed in what is the current leading candidate for game of the year where the Bills won in a 37-34 OT thriller. The Rams have started to fall apart due to a big number of injuries on both sides of the ball, including with Davante Adams who suffered a major hamstring injury that has him sidelined for a minimum of 6 weeks, possibly up to 10 weeks.
In addition, Puka Nacua is dealing with a calf injury and is now questionable for Week 7, per ESPN's Sarah Bishop. It sure sounds like the Rams could use some WR help, and ESPN's Dan Graziano reported that the Rams will "at least explore the possibility of trading for a wide receiver".
"I do not expect the Rams to go down without a fight, and my understanding is that they will at least explore the possibility of trading for a wide receiver in the wake of Davante Adams' hamstring injury, which is expected to sideline him six to 10 weeks. The issue, of course, is that they don't have a ton to trade." Graziano wrote.
It's time for the Bills to admit that things aren't working out with Palmer, and that both sides could use a fresh start. Palmer didn't provide a big impact with Joe Brady as the offensive coordinator, and he's not getting any better with Brady as the head coach.
Even though the Bills should not be looking to sell at the trade deadline, they could look to get some value back for Palmer to a team that needs major help at wide receiver.
