Do you have the Bills or Bengals defense and need some fantasy football advice? Read on.

The Buffalo Bills defense has been struggling recently in games and they are the reason why they team is on a three-game losing streak. The offense has put up exactly 25 points in each of the past three games but the defense has given up over 28 points in each of those same games. They have been hurt on big plays let up by their secondary. That’s why they opened up competitions at a few starting spots in the lineup to light a fire under the unit.

At cornerback, the Bills are considering starting Corey White over Ronald Darby. Rookie Kevon Seymour has reportedly won the starting job from Nickell Robey-Coleman in practice this week and will play nickel corner for the Bills. The Bills cut safety Duke Williams and signed James Ihedigbo to the roster. Inhedigbo will see as much time as he can handle this week because the Bills are unhappy with the play of Robert Blanton and Jonathan Meeks.

But that’s just real life and none of that matters for fantasy football. In fantasy football, it’s a whole different story. The Bills average the seventh most points per game for defenses in standard Yahoo leagues.

The reason being is that they have 30 sacks which is tied for first in the league with Carolina who has already played this week. Another reason is that the Bills are tied for third in the league with three defensive touchdowns. Buffalo may struggle to cover the Bengals receivers who all are pretty tall targets but overall the unit should have another solid day for fantasy football owners.

The Bengals, on the other hand, don’t have a defense that is worth it in fantasy football to start or to have on your roster. They have the 22nd best defense in average points per game. They are towards the bottom of the league in sacks and they don’t have a single defensive touchdown on the season. They are tied for seventh best in the league in interceptions with nine.

Overall, the Bengals defense doesn’t make enough splash plays and until they start, they won’t merit much value in fantasy football. This week you should start the Bills defense if you have them and leave the Bengals defense on the waiver wire or your bench.
