This only adds to the hype surrounding the contest between the two AFC East rivals. Even this early in the season, the result could go a long way towards deciding if the Bills can finally end their playoff drought, which currently stands at 15 years.

You could also make an argument that this is the most important Bills game in more than a decade. As such, it’s no surprise ESPN will be pulling out all the stops, including interviewing the likes Jim Kelly, Rex Ryan and Bruce Smith, live from the stadium.

Among those present with the ESPN crew will be Ron Jaworski who, as most of you are aware, is a native of the Buffalo area. He will be joined by Hall of Famer and former Bills general manager, Bill Polian.

ESPN have been in touch, and asked us to share the following news release with the BuffaLowDown audience:

ESPN’s signature news and information program SportsCenter will originate from the New England Patriots-Buffalo Bills game in Buffalo on Sunday, with Hannah Storm anchoring a two-hour program from outside Ralph Wilson Stadium at 8 a.m. ET on ESPN.

The program is scheduled to include interviews with Bills coach Rex Ryan, RB LeSean McCoy and Hall of Fame QB Jim Kelly, while Bills legends Thurman Thomas, Andre Reed and Bruce Smith are scheduled to join Storm on the set.

ESPN NFL analyst Bill Polian, who will be honored by the Pro Football Hall of Fame prior to the game, also will join Storm on the set as will analyst Ron Jaworski. Reporter Britt McHenry also will contribute to the program.

ESPN’s set will be adjacent to the newly-erected statue of Ralph Wilson, the late owner of the Bills, outside of the stadium.

The appearance in Buffalo is part of ESPN’s SportsCenter on the Road series, which takes the program out of the studio to events and fans. Among places the program has originated from this year are the NBA Finals, NFL Draft, Super Bowl, College Football Playoff and the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight. The show also aired from Notre Dame and the University of Michigan for the first two weeks of the college football season and will originate from Boston College on Friday night.
