Buffalo Bills Rumors: Tyrod Taylor Appears To Be Pulling Ahead In Quarterback Competition

"The Buffalo Bills are rumored to be getting a little closer to finding a quarterback, and it seems the one emerging as the team’s best is also the most unlikely. The Bills are in the midst of a three-way race to determine the starting quarterback, with veteran Matt Cassel competing with third-year E.J. Manuel and the wild card, Tyrod Taylor. Though no quarterback has seized the job just yet, reports from the team’s training camp in Pittsford, New York, indicate that Taylor appears to be taking the lead.Tyrod Taylor is something of an unknown in the quarterback race. While both Cassel and Manuel have clear-cut strengths and weaknesses, Taylor’s lack of playing time gives him what is essentially a blank slate."

Bills‘ Dareus living up to expectations

"Defensive tackle Marcell Dareus let out a playful giggle, fondly recalling the first time he practiced in pads at training camp as a Buffalo Bills’ rookie.Lined up across from guard Kraig Urbik in one-on-one drills, Dareus exploded out of his stance and lifted the 6-foot-5, 300-plus-pound offensive lineman off his feet before knocking him over — splat! — flat on his back.“First day. Right here,” Dareus said, a few days into this year’s camp, pointing toward the spot where he made his disruptive debut some four years ago at the Bills facility on the St. John Fisher College campus."

Buffalo Bills position preview: Linebackers

"The Buffalo Bills had one of the league’s most dominant defenses a year ago, and, with their core contributors all returning, they’re likely to continue their dominance in 2015.  Everyone knows the Bills greatest asset is their defensive line, boasting 3 Pro-Bowl players as well as Jerry Hughes, who added 10 sacks of his own in 2014.With Rex Ryan taking over as head coach, the Bills defense surely won’t take a step back.  However, the actual scheme may see some changes as Ryan likes to use a variety of different looks to confuse opposing QB’s, including plenty of 3-4 packages.  That means some of the Bills stud defensive ends could end up spending some time at the linebacker position, even possibly dropping into coverage on occasion."

Low-round pick Lewis learning the ropes

"Rex Ryan was served up a softball about rookie wide receiver Dez Lewis on Friday.Instead of knocking it out of the park with compliments, though, the Buffalo Bills’ coach hit a comebacker.Asked if he had seen Lewis seize the opportunity that comes with having five other wide receivers sit out practice, Ryan was blunt in his assessment.“Uh, not really,” the Buffalo Bills’ coach said. “I’ve seen him do some decent things. I saw where he got his helmet knocked off a couple times, so that’s what stood out to me.”"

Would Colin Kaepernick fit with the Buffalo Bills offense?

"When you look at what the Buffalo Bills did in the off-season, you would normally be ecstatic about their chances this upcoming season. Now, what if you combined those moves and added Colin Kaepernick to the mix?The Buffalo Bills Fanatics group on Facebook took on the discussion.  Now, so are we.I’d say Buffalo had a real good shot at not only making the playoffs but maybe even winning a game. The Bills traded for elite running back LeSean McCoy, signed tight end Charles Clay, signed wide receiver Percy Harvin, and added them to a team that struggled to put up points last season at just under 13 points a game, but does have the lethal Sammy Watkins on the outside."
