The Buffalo Bills have a decision to make before May 3rd and it has nothing to do with the NFL draft that will begin in less than a week.  The Buffalo Bills have to make a decision on the direction that they may be going with Stephon Gilmore.

Stephone Gilmore has been with the Buffalo Bills for 3 years.  Drafted by the Bills in 2012 as the 10th overall position, Gilmore is coming into his 4th year in the league.

Going into his 4th year, the Buffalo Bill have to make a decision on Stephon Gilmore’s 5th year option on his rookie contract and whether or not they will pick it up or not.

In 3 years with the Buffalo Bills, Gilmore has 41 games, starting 39 of them and racking up 119 tackles. He also has 3 forced fumbles and 6 touchdowns.

Stephon Gilmore joined Sal Capaccio on the John Murphy Show and talked being with the Buffalo Bills long term.

"Buffalo is the team that drafted me. I think Buffalo is an up and coming team.  We got some good things going this year.  The coaches and the players and the players coming along, I’m gonna be happy when they pick the option up. I’m just looking forward to it.  My main goal now is to focus on the season and whatever happens, happens and let’s win some football games."

That response was following the question that Sal asked if he would like to stay in Buffalo, if the Bills picked up his 5th year option and in the long run worked out a long term deal to stay here in Buffalo.

Stephon Gilmore will have his work cut out for him this year, as there are some new faces as far as wide receivers go, within the AFC and who is coming into town.  Gilmore is a guy that likes to play a physical man to man defense at the corner position and will be a featured part of the defense in Rex Ryan’s and Dennis Thurman’s defensive scheme this year.  Rex has worked with some prominent corners in New York, and this will be no different with Stephon Gilmore at the corner spot.
