Sammy Watkins, earlier in the offseason had hip surgery.  This was news for a lot of us as it broke last month that he even had surgery for his hip that he injured towards the end of the year.

Sammy Watkins had a breakout game against the Denver Broncos, but had injured his hip the week prior against the Cleveland Browns.  The following three games he pretty much matched the output of the Denver game and was definitely slowed up.

So, Watkins had hip surgery and with that came questions as to how serious it was as well as if and when he would be ready to get back onto the field.  Supposedly, the surgery was not too bad and the recovery time will take him to mid summer with Sammy Watkins ready to get back on the field in time for training camp.  He has not been sitting around either, he is at the voluntary workouts that are happening right now.

"“I’m good. I’m working out. Having fun with the guys,” Watkins said, via Mike Rodak of ESPN.com. “I’m just getting back to working out and just happy to be with the team and great coaches. Just gotta keep getting better. . . .“I’m just believing in my staff. They are doing a great job. Just gotta keep working out hard. Right now everything’s been going good. I’m healing. They are working me out the right way. The guys just keep motivating me every day and I just gotta keep getting better.”– PFT.com"

If Sammy has a set back or is for some reason not ready to go, the Buffalo Bills do have a couple of guys that they can fall back on that they brought in during the primary free agent period that happened back in the beginning of March. With Percy Harvin, Charles Clay, and even LeSean McCoy on the roster, an absent Sammy Watkins might hurt a little, but not as bad as if there were no additional moves made during the beginning of the offseason.
