2014 NFL Mock Draft 1.1

Here we look at picks 10 – 21 for BLD’s Mock Draft.  Don’t forget to check out picks 22 – 32 in the final post.

10. Detroit Lions
Sammy Watkins – WR – Clemson

Detroit could use a WR to take some heat off of Megatron but they could also use a CB more.  With Dennard still on the board at this point, I don’t agree with the simulator.

11. Tennessee Titans
Blake Bortles – QB – UCF

Jake Locker did get a reprive, per se, with the hiring of the Titans new coach, Ken Whisenhunt, but with his injury issues, the Titans will look to get some insurance.

12. New York Giants
Darqueze Dennard – CB – Michigan State

The Giants helped with LBs last year with Jon Beason coming over.  From this pas year there is a definite need in their secondary.

13. St. Louis Rams
Khalil Mack – OLB – Buffalo

With the Rams beefing up the OL with their first pick, thank you Washington, the Rams will look to the other side of the ball and look to help out their linebacking crew.

14. Chicago Bears
Timmy Jernigan – DT – Florida State

With injuries across the Defensive line, there needs to be a depth chart revival for the Bears.  They have to look defense with their first two picks.

15. Pittsburgh Steelers
Cyrus Kouandjio – OT – Alabama

The Steelers are sitting with one of the older offensive line crews in the league, look for them to take an OL to bring that average age out of the clouds.

16. Baltimore Ravens
Allen Robinson – WR – Penn State

With the loss of Anquan Boldin, the Ravens will look to find the next Boldin and fill a hole at the same time for Flacco.

17. Dallas Cowboys
Louis Nix III – DT – Notre Dames

With Ravens and Cowboy could switch spots with a coin flip but I don’t think that moving up one spot will change their decision.  They need to upgrade their defense, but this also seems to be a yearly thing with them.

18. New York Jets
Kelvin Benjamin – WR – Florida State

I wouldn’t be surprised if the Jets look QB here, they don’t have 10 on the roster yet.  Whoever their QB is going to be will need offensive help and WR is one way to go.

19. Miami Dolphins
Taylor Lewan – OT – Michigan

With the issues that the Dolphins had this year on their offensive line, they need to draft the best OL available at this point.

20. Arizona Cardinals
Antonio Richardson – OT – Tennessee

The Cardinals defense is in a good place.  They need to upgrade their offensive line as many other teams need to do as well.  This is a very deep class for OLs and nothing has been lost up to this point.

21. Green Bay Packers
Jace Amaro – TE – Texas Tech

The Packers are addressing a need at TE and Amaro is one that will add some depth and give Rogers another target on the field.
