With the loss to New York Jets, Josh Allen is 0-5 in career overtime games

While the Monday night game against the New York Jets was a struggle for Bills' quarterback Josh Allen, this particular loss added a stat to Josh Allen's resume as an NFL quarterback. Since being drafted in 2018, Allen has played in five games that went into overtime and a loss has been the result everytime.

His first overtime loss took place in the 2019-2020 playoffs where the Bills played against the Houston Texans that resulted in a game-winning field goal for the Texans that sent them to the divisional round. The second game overtime game for Allen took place down in Tampa Bay against Tom Brady and the Buccaneers, in which the Bills made a comeback to send the game to overtime but resulted in a Breshad Perriman touchdown grab down the sideline to send the Bills back up north with a loss.

Then the infamous 13 seconds game against the Kansas City Chiefs in the divisional round in 2022. In a game where there was no defense the last two minutes of regulation and overtime, the coin toss in which the Bills lost in did not allow to have Allen get the ball in his hands during overtime. This particular loss was not on Allen as he was the better quarterback during this matchup with Patrick Mahomes.

Last season, the Bills faced off against the Minnesota Vikings in what was ruled as the game of the year where the Vikings would defeat the Bills 33-30 in overtime after the Vikings made a comeback to push it to overtime for the Bills. Now with the Bills starting off this season 0-1 with an overtime loss to the Jets, Allen is now the leader for most losses in overtime by a starting quarterback.

If the Bills do indeed get themselves into an overtime situation throughout the season, Allen will need to find a way to avoid another heartbreak for Bills fans.
