The Buffalo Bills defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and now have a chance to rest up and get somewhat healthy. The team will enjoy a mini-bye until they travel to Cincinnati to take on the Bengals, in what I believe is a must-win, but we aren't here to talk about that just yet. In the meantime, we'll see how the rest of the AFC fares this weekend.
What we will talk about is some of the latest news and notes about the Buffalo Bills. They currently sit at 5 - 3 and in second place in the AFC East; however, depending on what happens this weekend with the Miami Dolphins matchup with the New England Patriots, they could find themselves in first place heading into November.
The Bills had some bright spots in last night's game, and they had some new weapons begin to emerge. On the flip side, they still have a few things they need to get answered. The trade deadline is Tuesday at 4 PM ET and it's unknown if the Bills will be looking to add any new pieces. The defensive side of the ball could use an infusion of talent, given the injuries sustained on that side of the ball.
There are a few players I think Buffalo could target before the deadline passes but the team doesn't have much in terms of the salary cap and would Brandon Beane be willing to give up any first-round picks in a deal to bolster this roster? For what it's worth, it wouldn't be the first time. He gave up a first-round pick and then some to acquire Stefon Diggs.
Dalton Kincaid is on fire
Over the last two games, since returning from concussion protocol, Kincaid has been targeted 15 times in the passing game. He's turned those targets into 13 receptions, 140 yards, and a touchdown. When targeted, his quarterback has a QB rating of exactly 100.0. On the season, he has 34 targets, with 30 receptions, 258 yards and the lone touchdown.

He's on pace for over 500 yards and 60 receptions; however, the numbers we've seen the last two weeks I think are more indicative of what we might get from Kincaid going forward. With Dawson Knox on IR and out for the next few weeks, Kincaid has an opportunity to pile up the stats and show the coaching staff he can handle the number one tight end role.
Khalil Shakir is on the rise
I mentioned earlier in the week that Khalil Shakir's snap count share has been on the rise since Week One of the season. I also said he needs to be featured in the Bills' offense as their top option in the slot and the Bills need to stop with the revolving door of players at the position. I don't want to say I told you so, but I'm going to say I told you so.
Don’t know if the play by Khalil Shakir is better, or how much the #Bills players love it#BillsMafia #GoBills

In the last two weeks, Shakir has received ten targets and turned all of them into receptions. Against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, you had six receptions for 92 yards, both career highs. I think this is only the beginning for him too. Through the first six weeks of the season, he's gotten only six targets but he turned those into five receptions.
That's a total of 16 targets and 15 receptions. He has added 167 yards and one touchdown so far. His 14 receptions and 167 yards this season are both season highs for him and he will look to continue to add to those numbers over the second half of the season, as I expect the Bills will continue to incorporate him into their weekly game plan.
Josh Allen does it again
It seems like every few weeks we are talking about something that Josh Allen has accomplished that no player or very few players have ever done. This week is no different. Allen completed 31 of 40 passes for 324 yards and two touchdowns. He also added 41 yards rushing and another touchdown. The three total give him 17 passing touchdowns and five rushing touchdowns on the year.

No quarterback in the Super Bowl era has ever produced 17 passing touchdowns and five rushing scores within the team's first eight games to start a season. The statistical accomplishments of Allen are nothing short of extraordinary and he simply continues to do things other quarterbacks can't. I can't wait to see what else he accomplishes but let's just hope one of those is a Super Bowl championship for Buffalo and all the fans.
Stefon Diggs is making history
Stefon Diggs didn't have a ton of yards against Tampa Bay, but he had a team-high nine receptions. The catches gave him a total of 64 receptions this season, with 748 yards and six touchdowns. All three lead the team and he remains one of the unquestioned leaders of this team. But he did something last night that was not mentioned on the telecast and isn't getting enough attention.
Stefon Diggs tallied nine catches last night, improving his career total to 767 receptions.

Diggs has now tallied the second-most receptions by a player prior to turning 30 in league history ⬇️
1. DeAndre Hopkins - 789
2. Stefon Diggs - 767
3. Larry Fitzgerald - 764 pic.twitter.com/AHT0fkSg3a
For his career, he has 767 receptions, which moved him in front of Larry Fitzgerald for the most receptions by a player before turning 30 years old. Only Deandre Hopkins has the most, with 789 before his 30th birthday. So, let's do some quick math. Diggs turns 30 on November 29th, which means he has four more games to break Hopkins' record and he needs 22 receptions in that span to do it. That's only five to six per game, which should be a piece of cake for Diggs.
