Pick Analysis. EDGE. Missouri. Isaiah McGuire. 4. 822. Scouting Report. player

In the fourth round, the Bills stay on the defensive side of the ball and go with defensive end Isaiah McGuire out of Missouri.

One of the main concerns with this defense, heading into the 2023 campaign, is the health of All Pro pass rusher Von Miller. When the leader of this pass rush group suffered an ACL tear in Thanksgiving last year, the Bills’ defense suffered. They were a different group and struggled getting to the quarterback.

It was evident that the Bills needed another guy to step up other than Gregory Rousseau, but they didn’t quite get that from another true edge rusher. For that reason, McGuire joins the fold.

McGuire is more of a power rusher, standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 268 pounds. He isn’t as agile as you’d like, but that’s why he’s not going to go too high. Still, he is a big disruptor. McGuire finds himself in the backfield often. Sometimes, he makes the play, while other times he guesses wrong and gives up a good chunk.

If he can be coached to diagnose run plays a little better, McGuire would become a total package and a valuable find here for the Bills.
