Dalton Risner is the top guard left for the Buffalo Bills

Dalton Risner is among the top free agent options still available, and probably the only player on this list who moves the needle as far as a starting-caliber player for the Buffalo Bills entering 2023. Coming off a season in which he played 967 snaps for the Denver Broncos, he would add another interior option for the Bills to push Ryan Bates, and add depth to an offensive line that has lacked quality backup options in recent years.

Risner is a good pass blocker who struggles with run blocking, so his skill set is somewhat redundant with recently signed guard Connor McGovern. However, as a large, long, athletic guard, he profiles as the type of player that Bills Offensive Line Coach Aaron Kromer and GM Brandon Beane have valued highly. Given how the market for guards has developed this offseason, he could be an intriguing option.

The Broncos have gone on a spending spree this offseason, but seem to have little interest in bringing Risner back. This became clearly evident when they signed Ben Powers to a massive 4 year $51 million deal last week. Having struggled somewhat last year, Risner, still just 27 years old could end up settling for a short term deal.

The Buffalo Bills could provide an opportunity for him to increase his value and show added versatility by signing him to an incentive laden deal with a lower base salary for 2023.
