Buffalo Bills won’t have much cap space to add any other free agents

If the Buffalo Bills were to sign Odell Beckham Jr. as a free agent it would probably use up any remaining cap space and the Bills would not be able to address any other positions.

Last week during Brandon Beane’s press conference he said the team had about $9-$9.5 million in cap space. As Sal Capaccio tweeted, this total also needs to be used for draft picks, undrafted free agents and practice squad players.

The good news is that there really aren’t any other glaring holes on the roster that couldn’t be addressed in the 2023 NFL Draft. The Bills do have only six draft picks and that is another reason they might explore trading Gabe Davis to add a few more picks to improve the depth of the roster.

If the Buffalo Bills were to sign OBJ to a multi-year deal, it certainly could create some flexibility in terms of how they structure it to minimize the cap hit this season but the addition of the former Pro Bowl wide receiver would mean they are not adding much else before the NFL Draft.
