4 reasons for optimism about the Buffalo Bills in 2023

Health is all the Defense needs
Many people forget how injured the Bills defense was this past season. Micah Hyde will return after missing all but the Bills’ first 2 games after having to have neck surgery. The Hyde-Poyer safety duo was the linchpin of the Bills’ league-best passing defense in 2021. Even in 2022, the Bills held their opponents to 10 and 7 points when Hyde was on the field.
Von Miller, the Buffalo Bills marquee free agency signing from last offseason, went down in the Bills Thanksgiving victory over the Lions. Miller had already accrued eight sacks and was at the top of the leaderboard in Pass-Rush Win Rate. Getting the Hall of Famer back on the field is huge for this defensive line.
Tre’Davious White finished the season with the team but struggled in his return from an ACL tear. More distance and time from that injury can hopefully allow him to return to the All-Pro caliber he played at in 2019 and 2020.
