Last offseason, the Buffalo Bills believed they had to improve the offensive line and made moves to do that by bringing back Ryan Bates, who finished the 2021 season as the starter, as well as bringing in Aaron Kromer as offensive line coach.

One of the key moves though was signing veteran Rodger Saffold, who previously was with the Tennessee Titans and coming off his first Pro Bowl season. The hope was that Saffold could be a key part of improving the run game after his time as part of the run-heavy offense of the Titans.

While Saffold did make the Pro Bowl this past season, his performance certainly wasn’t at the same level as it was the prior year with the Titans. As Joe DiBiase with WGR550 tweeted, Saffold was one of the lowest graded at his position by Pro Football Focus.

This offseason Rodger Saffold once again is a free agent and while he has said he wants to return, the Buffalo Bills should think long and hard before re-signing him.
