Isaiah Hodgins

One player that had an excellent preseason and appeared to play his way onto the 53-man roster was Isaiah Hodgins. It seemed that everything came together for the former sixth round draft pick in his third year with the Bills and over the three preseason games had 16 receptions, 124 receiving yards on 21 targets.

The challenge for Hodgins is that the Buffalo Bills are very deep at the wide receiver position and the final spot would come down to him or Jake Kumerow.

This almost certainly was a tough decision because Hodgins was clearly the better wide receiver. However, the player in that final spot would need to contribute in other areas and the Bills elected to go with Kumerow, due to his contributions on special teams.

Fortunately for the Buffalo Bills, they were able to bring Isaiah Hodgins back as part of their practice squad. If there is an injury at the position this season, Hodgins would likely be the player called up and the coaching staff should be confident about him stepping in and contributing based on what he showed this summer.
