After a disappointing second season, Zack Moss appeared like he could be on the outside looking in if he doesn’t bounce back during training camp. The former third round pick did that and he not only looks like he will make the 53-man roster but have a weekly role in this offense.

In the two preseason games, Moss has had only seven carries but has picked up 59 yards on the ground and two rushing touchdowns. After the Broncos game, Sean McDermott said that Moss has had “one of the more consistent training camps to this point”, according to ESPN’s Alaina Getzenberg.

Entering this season, Devin Singletary and James Cook were expected to handle almost all of the work out of the backfield. However, Moss’ performance to date may have forced the coaching staff to make this a three-man backfield with Moss handling the short-yardage situations to pick up those tough yards.
