Penalties were once again an issue

In a game where the Buffalo Bills only punted once, scored over 40 points and ended their first six drives with touchdowns, there isn’t much to critique. However, one thing that does stand out that appears to start being a trend is penalties.

In their first preseason game against the Colts, the Bills were called for 11 penalties which totaled 90 penalty yards. This week against the Denver Broncos, the Buffalo Bills were called for eight penalties for 68 yards.

The Buffalo Bills are one of the best teams in football and have one of the deepest rosters. They should be competing for a Super Bowl championship but an easy way to allow the opponent to stay in the game is mistakes like penalties and turnovers.

This is probably something that is going to bother Sean McDermott as it has now been an issue the second week in a row. I would imagine this is a point of emphasis between now and the first regular season game against the Rams.
