4 Buffalo Bills on the roster bubble with big performances against the Colts
Baylon Spector
The final player on the roster bubble who had an impressive game against the Indianapolis Colts is linebacker Baylon Spector. The former Clemson Tiger linebacker was a seventh round pick by the Buffalo Bills and on Saturday was all over the field with 10 total tackles and one pass defended.
On Saturday, Spector showed that he can make an impact at linebacker and a playmaker in this defense. The question for him, and what ultimately will decide his chances of making the 53-man roster, is what he can do on special teams.
Those final roster spots at linebackers usually go to players who will be key parts of the special teams unit. The Bills have some questions there with Andre Smith, who has played over 60% of special teams snaps the past two years, set to serve a six-game suspension to start the year.
If Spector can play special teams, along with continuing his strong play at linebacker with the second and third teams, he could be the best option to replace Smith early in the year.
