4 Buffalo Bills on the roster bubble with big performances against the Colts
Raheem Blackshear
There wasn’t much news out of training camp about Raheem Blackshear, the undrafted free agent signing out of Virginia Tech. He is a smaller running back but one that can do a lot of different things to help a team win.
On Saturday against the Colts, that was on full display as he had only six carries for 11 yards but did find the end zone twice on those carries. However, as a pass catcher out of the backfield, he showed the most as he had four receptions for 60 yards, including a 32-yard reception.
He also had two kick returns for 34 yards and a punt return for another 16 yards.
Even with the big game he had against the Colts, Blackshear is probably a long shot to make the 53-man roster. He also suffered an ankle injury late in the game and if he is forced to miss any practice time or preseason games that will not help his chances either.
It may ultimately be a numbers game for Raheem Blackshear and if the Buffalo Bills don’t have a spot on the 53-man roster, he seems like a perfect practice squad candidate as he showed he can make an impact when given the chance.
