4. player. 59. . . . Mike Gesicki

The next tight end in these rankings also resides in the AFC East and that is Miami Dolphins’ tight end Mike Gesicki. He was drafted by the Dolphins in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft and after a quiet rookie season Gesicki has developed into a good tight end in this offense.

He now has had three straight years with at least 50 receptions and over 500 receiving yards and in fact, has broken 700 receiving yards the past two seasons. He also has 13 receiving touchdowns during that stretch, even though that total did drop last season to only two.

The knock on Gesicki has always been about his blocking or lack thereof. This is not his strong suit but what he does in the passing game certainly makes up for it. He is probably more of a big slot receiver than a tight end and really can be an effective playmaker in any offense.

This year he has a chance to have another great season with the Dolphins adding Tyreek Hill, which should take some of the attention off Gesicki. It could give him more room to operate in the middle of the field and make big plays for this Dolphins defense.
