Bears, Dolphins, Vikings early in the season

Among the teams that the Buffalo Bills have on their schedule, they should be hoping for early season matchups against the Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings, and their two division games with the Miami Dolphins.

The reason being all three teams have new head coaches, and not only new head coaches but coaches entering their first season of ever being a head coach.

Whenever a team has a new head coach, there is always a learning period at the start of their coaching career. The reason is that they are trying to implement new playbooks and get everyone on the same page. This period also includes an evaluation period of the players on the roster and who might fit where.

It is unlikely that they are playing their best football at this point and they usually improve as the season goes along.

This should give the Buffalo Bills a slight edge in these matchups with Sean McDermott returning for his sixth season and a majority of the coaching staff remaining the same. The Bills do have a new offensive coordinator in Ken Dorsey, but he has been with the Buffalo Bills for the past few seasons as quarterback coach so there is still some level of familiarity.

If the Buffalo Bills can get these teams in the first six or seven weeks of the season, it could help the team get off to a fast start to the season.
