Jerry Hughes – Cleveland Browns

There have been some rumors about this connection since the 2022 NFL Draft and it is a move that certainly makes sense for both sides. According to Mary Kay Cabot, the Browns are interested in adding the former first round pick.

Jerry Hughes has not been known for high sack totals over the past few seasons but still has been an effective edge rusher that can generate pressure. According to Jon Macri, last year Hughes had 28 pressures that led to a sack or incompletion, which was one ahead of current Browns’ pass rusher Myles Garrett.

Last year, the Browns had Jadeveon Clowney opposite Garrett and while they could still bring Clowney back, who is a free agent, Jerry Hughes would be a great option at well.

Over his time with Buffalo, Hughes has been the primary pass rusher but moving to be a second option could result in Hughes turning more of those pressures into sacks with Garrett getting more attention.
