Round 3, 102nd overall: Channing Tindall, LB (Georgia)

Round 4, 125th overall: Erik Ezukanma, WR (Texas Tech)

Round 7, 224th overall: Cameron Goode, OLB (Cal)

Round 7, 247th overall: Skylar Thompson, QB, Kansas State

While the New York Jets had four picks in the Top 36, the Miami Dolphins didn’t have any picks in the Top 100. This was due to the fact they sent a number of picks to the Kansas City Chiefs for wide receiver Tyreek Hill.

This offseason, the Dolphins wanted to put a better supporting cast around Tua Tagovailoa, their first round pick from last year, and they did that primarily with veterans like Chase Edmonds, Cedrick Wilson, and the aforementioned Tyreek Hill. They also bolstered their offensive line with Terron Armstead and Connor Williams.

The trade for Hill limited what they could do in the draft but the selection of Channing Tindall is notable. The former Georgia linebacker may not have had the fanfare of Quay Walker or Nakobe Dean but was an effective player for the Bulldogs.

The reason that the Buffalo Bills should take note is that the scouting report on Bleacher Report describes a linebacker with “elite speed” and “above-average agility”. This was probably something the Dolphins wanted to add to their defense to try and combat the mobility of Josh Allen, who is averaging over 50 rushing yards per game against the Dolphins.

In the end, it is hard to give Miami a high grade considering the lack of draft picks, particularly early, but I imagine they don’t mind knowing they have one of the best wide receivers on their roster in Tyreek Hill.
