Defensive Ends

Starters: Von Miller, Greg Rousseau

Backups: Boogie Basham, A.J. Epenesa, Shaq Lawson, Mike Love

The defensive end position is going to look very different than a season ago with the additions of Von Miller and Shaq Lawson, along with the departures of Jerry Hughes, Mario Addison, and Efe Obada. The Bills have typically rotated at this position and last year had six defensive ends play 18% or more snaps but only Jerry Hughes played more than 50% of the snaps.

The rotation the coaching staff sets for the upcoming season is going to be really interesting to see. It would make sense that they try to limit Von Miller’s snaps in hopes of maximizing his pass-rushing ability, which could create more playing time for players like Boogie Basham and Shaq Lawson.

The starter alongside Miller should be Greg Rousseau, who is entering his second season after being the starter every game as a rookie. The big question will be where A.J. Epenesa fits into this rotation and does he move up behind Miller and Rousseau or get passed by Basham and Lawson.
