Prediction: Dallas Cowboys

After the signings by the Buffalo Bills of Von Miller and Shaq Lawson, it looks like Jerry Hughes’ time with the Bills will come to an end. He was the longest-tenured player on the team last year after spending nine years in Western New York.

At this point in his career, Hughes is not a starter but could be valuable to a defense as a situational pass rusher and with the veteran leadership he would bring. In the past three seasons, Hughes has had only 11 sacks and 27 QB hits in the regular season.

However, he has played very well in the playoffs and in six playoff games over that stretch has seven sacks and 10 QB hits.

In terms of where he might be playing next season, the Dallas Cowboys looks to be a good fit after they lost Randy Gregory in free agency. The Cowboys did sign Dante Fowler and already have DeMarcus Lawrence so adding Hughes as that third defensive end makes sense. For Hughes, it would be a chance to return to Texas, where he grew up and played college football at TCU.
