Buffalo Bills defense needs to get off the field on third down

As noted previously, the Patriots’ offense wants to grind these games out and they do a good job of being efficient and staying on the field. They currently rank 12th in the league in average number of plays per drive at 6.17, according to Pro Football Reference.

One of the reasons they are able to extend drives is they currently rank fifth in the league in third-down conversion at 45.7%.

Meanwhile, this is an area the Buffalo Bills have done pretty well this season. They currently are allowing only 5.6 plays per drive, which is the fourth-best in the league. They also rank fourth in third-down conversions allowed at a rate of only 33.3%.
