Matt Haack

The punter position is often overlooked until it is needed. Well, this is a game that Matt Haack could be a key player in deciding whether the Buffalo Bills win or lose.

Earlier this week, Josh Allen expects this game to be a slugfest similar to last year when there was only one offensive touchdown scored in the fast half by either team. If this game follows a similar script to last year, field position is going to be critical.

This is where Matt Haack, the Bills’ new punter comes into play and is why he is one of the biggest x-factors in this game. Last year, Corey Bojorquez finished near the bottom in the league in terms of total punts for starting punters with only 41 all season. However, he had five in the game against the Steelers.

Matt Haack doesn’t have the strongest leg but is very accurate. If the Bills are forced to punt and are near midfield then it gives Haack a good chance to pin the Steelers deep in their end, giving them poor starting field position.
