Tremaine Edmunds

The last player that I will be watching closely in Week 1 against the Pittsburgh Steelers is linebacker Tremaine Edmunds. The former first round pick is a polarizing player, similar to Josh Allen prior to the season he had last year.

The reason that Edmunds is criticized as much as he is, is due to the fact that the potential is absolutely there for him to be one of the best linebackers in the game. He has been a starter for four seasons, including trips to the Pro Bowl the past two seasons, and is only 23 years old.

This first week will be a big test for a player that is entering a pivotal season. The Steelers drafted one of the best running backs in the 2021 NFL Draft in Najee Harris, who can essentially do anything a team would want from their running back. He is able to run inside, as well as outside, and is an excellent pass catcher.

The responsibility to contain the former University of Alabama running back is going to fall a lot on Edmunds’ shoulders. This is certainly an important game for Edmunds and if he has a good game, the Buffalo Bills defense should have a good week against the Steelers.
