Offensive Tackle
Unlike tight end, the offensive tackle position has two clear starters in Dion Dawkins at left tackle and Daryl Williams at right tackle. These are two players that played at a high level last year and give the Bills one of the top tackle duos in the league.
The concern for the Buffalo Bills however lies with their depth and who is on the team behind Dawkins and Williams. In past seasons, the Bills have had Ty Nsekhe, who was a veteran swing tackle that could step in at a moment’s notice.
He left in free agency to sign with the Dallas Cowboys and the front office elected to go with two rookies after selecting Spencer Brown and Tommy Doyle. This is a move that can pay off in the long term as both looked good during the preseason and could develop into starters.
However, it is a risk for this season because they are essentially unknowns and, especially at left tackle, play a critical role on this offense. If the Bills were forced to be without Dion Dawkins for an extended period of time, it could cause some problems if Spencer Brown or Tommy Doyle isn’t ready to be starters.
