Mario Addison

The next player is Mario Addison, who unlike Dawson Knox, hasn’t necessarily played bad this preseason. In fact, Addison has only played 16 snaps this preseason, which all came in the final preseason game against the Green Bay Packers.

The reason that Addison could lose the starting spot is because first-round draft pick Greg Rousseau has just looked that good. He has been better than advertised in the first three preseason games and if they are any indication, he is certainly ready to contribute this year.

The coaching staff could already be leaning this way if the game against the Green Bay Packers is any indication. While Addison was listed as the starter on the unofficial depth chart, Rousseau got the start on the defensive line opposite Jerry Hughes.

The Buffalo Bills rotate their defensive linemen frequently throughout the game and usually by the end the top three or four are usually playing the same number of snaps. However, if Rousseau continues to play the way he did in the preseason, the coaching staff may need to adjust their strategy.
