Jake Fromm
The Buffalo Bills are likely to keep only two quarterbacks on the 53-man roster however there could be a thought process that would make sense for the team to keep three. That third quarterback in that scenario would then be Jake Fromm.
The Bills do have Mitchell Trubisky as the backup this year, and he is one of the better backups in the NFL. However, he is on a one-year deal and is unlikely to return to Buffalo next offseason as he searches for a starting job somewhere.
This would then put the Bills in a tough situation as they once again will be searching for a quality backup to Josh Allen. However, the team did draft Jake Fromm in the fifth round last year and he looked good in two games (Lions, Packers) with one disappointing game (Bears).
When taking into account that Fromm would still have two more years on his rookie contract, it could make sense for the team to keep Jake Fromm on the 53-man roster as the third quarterback with him becoming the backup in 2022.
