Vernon Butler

The final player that really needs to have a good game is someone that missed the first preseason game and should get his first preseason action on Saturday. Veteran defensive tackle Vernon Butler was a key part of the defensive line last year but could be fighting for a roster spot.

Vernon Butler has been dealing with a concussion during training camp but he returned to practice over the weekend. He should be available for this game and it couldn’t come at a better time.

As I previously mentioned, the Bills have questions about how many defensive linemen they are going to keep and the question really lies at defensive tackle. There is the potential for the team to only keep three defensive tackles so Justin Zimmer, Harrison Phillips, and Vernon Butler could be competing for only one spot.

This could be a pivotal game for Butler and give him a chance to separate himself from the other two defensive tackles.
